About this hotel

The Talisman is a five-star hotel in a palace built 150 years ago on a quiet street in the Al-Amin quarter, off Bab Sharqi in Old Damascus. It follows the pattern of Damascene houses of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, with some Umayyad detail in the building. Queen Sofia of Spain, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have all stayed here. There are single and double rooms, a junior suite and a suite, and a 40-square-metre suite sleeps two, with a dining table and a fridge. The hotel has a swimming pool, central air conditioning and a workspace.
