Mudief Hub is a search site for hotel stays in Syria. We do not sell rooms, so we hold very little about you. This page says exactly what we hold, why, and for how long.
What you tell us about yourself
You can use the site without telling us who you are. We ask for a name only when you choose to write a review, and you choose what that name is. If you write to us, we keep your message so we can answer it, and nothing more.
Counting visits, for everyone
Each time anyone opens one of our pages, we add one to that day's count for that kind of page and language, and note whether you came from another site. For a new visit we also count where it came from: the source tag in the link if it has one, or else only the name of the site you came from, such as google.com, never the page you were on. We also count the country of a new visit: we read it from your internet address at that moment, and we do not keep the address. For a hotel page, we also count which booking sites were shown on it. We do this even if you refuse analytics, because it records nothing that identifies you: no cookie, no id and no internet address, and one page cannot be linked to the next. What we keep is a number per day.
What we record when you allow it
If you accept analytics cookies, we record which pages you open, which searches you run, which hotels you look at, and when you follow a link to a booking platform. We also record where your visit came from: the site that sent you and any campaign tags in the link. Each record carries a random number kept in your browser, never your name. We delete these records after 14 months.
Your country, never your address
We read your country from your internet address at the moment of each request. The address itself is never written down. The country is all we keep, so that a booking platform can be told which countries its visitors come from.
When you go on to a booking platform
That click is recorded even if you refused analytics, because platforms pay us for the visits we send them. The record holds the hotel, the platform, the country and the time, plus a one-time random number instead of anything about you. It is the evidence behind an invoice, so we keep it as long as accounting requires.
When you write a review
We keep what the form asks for (your score, what you say you did with the booking site, your review and the name you chose), plus the language of the page, which link brought you to the form, and the date and time you sent it. We keep no internet address with it, and we do not connect it to cookies or to any other record of your visit. Our analytics does not record visits to the review form.
How we slow down fake reviews
To slow down fake reviews sent in bulk, we count how many reviews are sent from each internet address in a day. We keep that count for about a day, only in our server's memory, linked to a scrambled form of the address. It is never written down.
How long we keep a review, and how to remove yours
We check every review before it appears. Once published, anyone can read it, with the month and year it was written. If we decide not to publish a review, or take a published review off the site, we delete it 90 days after that decision. If we have not decided within 90 days of you sending it, we delete it then. A published review stays until we take it off the site. If you ask us to remove a review you wrote, we delete it from our pages and from our database. To ask, write to us at info@mudief.net with the booking site, the day you sent the review and the language of the page you wrote it in. We cannot confirm who wrote a review, so we may ask you about it first.
When you report a problem
When you report a problem with a listing or with one of our pages, we keep what you chose, anything you wrote, the language of the page, your stay dates and party size if they were in the address, and what our own page showed at that moment: the price we listed and the names. We do not keep your internet address, your country, any cookie or session id, and a report is never linked to your visit. A report is never shown in public and we never show your words to the booking site it is about. To slow down floods we count reports per internet address for about a day, in memory only, under a scrambled form of the address. We delete a report 90 days after we close it, or 90 days after it arrives if nobody closes it. We do not reply to reports. Write to info@mudief.net if you need an answer.
Who else sees any of this
Nobody sees the records above. Booking sites that work with us see totals only: how many visits our site had, and how often their own offers were shown and clicked. We do not sell or share them, we show no advertising, and no other company is allowed to place cookies through our site. The platform you click to sees an ordinary visit with a tag saying it came from us. Reviews are different: once we publish a review, anyone can read it, and the booking site it is about can also read it in its own dashboard. If something on our website stops working, a short error report is sent automatically to a service in the European Union that helps us fix it. The report only says which page had the problem and what went wrong. It never includes your name, your internet address, your cookies or anything you typed.
Your choice, at any time
You can accept or refuse analytics whenever you like, using Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. Refusing stops the recording and clears the random number from your browser. How we use cookies
